Unit Type: Indoor, drive-up, and climate-controlled units (like our cellar wine storage) are all priced differently.

Access Frequency: Need to pop in at odd hours? Our extended 365-day access costs a little more than standard business hours access, but the flexibility is well worth it.

Security Features: All Fort Knox facilities come with individually alarmed units, 24/7 CCTV, and on-site managers.

Location: Like most things in Melbourne, location plays a role. A unit at our Spencer Street (West Melbourne) facility will be priced differently from one in the outer suburbs.

Commitment: The longer you commit, the more you save. Pre-paying for your storage can cut 5–15% off your monthly rate.

Car Storage (Sedans, Utes, Classics)

Car storage is available at all of our Melbourne locations except in Eltham, Alphington & Melbourne – with two main options depending on how much protection you need.

Our fully enclosed indoor units are ideal for classic cars, luxury vehicles, or anything you’re storing long-term – keeping your pride and joy completely shielded from the elements.

Prefer something more accessible for a daily driver or work ute? Our undercover bays offer a solid roof and easy drive-up access, along with a lower price tag.

Either way, every space is monitored by 24/7 CCTV and individually alarmed.

Fort Knox offers secure undercover storage for vessels and vans at all Melbourne locations except Eltham, Alphington and Melbourne, with bays designed to accommodate everything from small jet skis up to large caravans over 8.5 metres.

What You’re Storing (The Assessment Checklist)

Before you book, it’s worth taking stock of exactly what you’re storing and how you’re storing it. A little bit of planning upfront can save you from paying for more space than you need (or worse, not enough).

Furniture & Volume:

Are your items flat-packed and stackable, or are you dealing with bulky, non-stackable pieces like antiques or oddly shaped furniture? The latter takes up significantly more floor space than you’d expect.

The “Aisle” Requirement:

If you need regular access to your items, say, business stock you’re pulling from frequently, factor in a walkway. As a rule of thumb, go one size up from your estimated volume to leave yourself room to move around.

Sensitive Items:

Storing wine, electronics, or leather furniture? These need more than just a dry space. Ask us about climate-controlled options to keep your valuables in the best possible condition.

Measuring Vehicles:

For caravans and boats, measure the total length, including the trailer hitch or drawbar, and the total height, including any AC units or antennas. It’s an easy thing to overlook and an annoying one to get wrong.

Stacking Ability:

Our units are generally 2.4m to 3m high. If you can stack boxes safely, you can make the most of the vertical space and potentially save money by choosing a smaller footprint unit.
