Self Storage Manager of the Year
The Fort Knox team is extremely proud and delighted to announce that one of our very own Area Managers, Linda Barker, won the prestigious Self Storage Association of Australasia (SSAA), Manager of the Year – Award for Excellence at this year’s SSAA Conference.
Linda’s dedication and commitment to the growth and success of her self storage site as well as the wider Fort Knox group is highly commendable. On 1st July this year Linda celebrated 13 years of service with us and is an inspirational manager whom is well liked and respected by our entire team. She is also the face of Fort Knox, featuring on our website and numerous marketing campaigns.
This outstanding achievement is a great honour to be awarded. Not only was Linda recognised by her peers, but by an Association renowned for its high standards, was a fine accomplishment.
Linda has a great passion for helping others. She is quick to build rapport and always shows great empathy in regards to her client’s needs. Linda is a also fabulous trainer, with a great ability to be patient and has nurtured her team to achieve both professional and personal growth and development.
Operations and HR Manager Joanna Wilson accepted the award on Linda’s behalf at the SSAA summit in Uluru. The award was then presented to Linda at our August monthly Managers meeting.
We asked Linda what winning this award meant to her;
“I was really surprised and humbled. I felt very grateful to be even considered for a nomination. It was a great honour for me let alone becoming a finalist. I never imaged I would actually win. I couldn’t be the leader I am without the support from management and the team here at Fort Knox. And I am thankful for the recognition this have given me.
I have seen many changes over the years within the self storage industry. I don’t think I would have lasted 13 years if it wasn’t for the wonderful people I deal with on a daily basis. Not only do we have a great team, but this job has introduced me to some wonderful people. Our clients come to us in a time of need and stress and it gives me great personal satisfaction to be able to help them, and make them feel at ease. Many storer’s stay a long time with us and so we often develop great relationships.”
On behalf of the entire Fort Knox group we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Linda of this outstanding achievement. Finding a leader who motivates and drives enthusiasm into your business is near impossible. However we believe we have that with Linda and couldn’t think of a more deserving person.
