Queen of Storage – Barbra Lupisan wins SSAA Manager of the Year
It is with sheer delight that the team at Fort Knox Self Storage announce that one of our valued Storage Experts Barb has won the prestigious award of excellence for the SSAA (Self Storage Association of Australasia) Manager of the Year Award 2018.
This outstanding accomplishment is a tremendous honour to have been presented. To be recognised not only by her peers but by our industry Association renowned for its high standards is a fabulous achievement.
Area Manager to 4 of our sites and Manager of our Keysborough facility, Barb’s perseverance and commitment to the growth and success of her sites and the wider Fort Knox group is highly admirable. Barb has dedicated 11 years of service to not only Fort Knox but as an advocate for the wider self-storage industry. Barb is a true leader with a supportive management style, which fosters a collaborative approach ensuring all team members share the same vision and goals.
Barb is a very special and unique member of our Fort Knox family. Her zest for life together with her quirky sense of humour, make working with her a lot of fun. She has a caring disposition and adopts all team members as if they were her own children and works together with them to ensure they are nurtured, grow and develop both personally and professionally, which makes her a natural trainer.
Operations and HR Managers Julia West and Joanna Wilson accepted the award on Barb’s behalf at the SSAA convention in Brisbane while Barb watched watch on in absolute disbelief via video feed.
“We are so very proud to have accepted this award on Barb’s behalf. She is a deserving winner. Barb is an extremely valued member of our Fort Knox Family and this award is testament to her dedication and hard work for the past 11 years” Julia said.
We asked Barb what winning this award meant to her and she said…
“I am beyond excited to receive this award! I am very grateful that I have been given a chance to do something I am good at. Being part of the Fort Knox team, the culture and my colleagues has had a big impact on me and helped me grow as a person. Winning this award has motivated me to new heights and to strive to do better than yesterday and most importantly continue to be there for my fellow teammates and clients.”
As Barb was unable to accept the award on the night Susan Phillips, CEO of The Self Storage Association of Australasia kindly visited our site and presented Barb with her award last week.
You will struggle to find a more loyal, dedicated advocate for not just Fort Knox Self-Storage but for the Self-Storage industry, therefore making Barb an admirable and deserving mascot for our industry.
On behalf of the entire Fort Knox team we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Barb on this extemporary achievement. Additionally, we would like to congratulate the other finalists in this category. To become a finalist means you are one of 5 of the best in an elite group of site managers in our industry which is an incredible accolade, so huge congratulations to them also.
