In today’s ever increasing digital world its important the we recognise the need for face to face engagement. Numerous studies have reported that one of the biggest factors in an individual’s employment needs is socialisation. Yet we find ourselves engaging more and more in online activities.
Community is a big focus at our new Keysborough self storage site.
At Fort Knox Self Storage Keysborough we believe there needs to be a balance between the digital and the real world. Whilst we continually strive to improve our online presence, develop new technologies and streamline our processes, we also believe that active local community engagement is imperative in building brand trust and relationships.
Recently we hosted a cocktail party in celebration of the grand opening of our new state-of-the-art Keysborough self storage site. We invited numerous businesses, sporting clubs and groups to come along and meet us. This event was attended by Mayor Cr Heang Tak of the City of Greater Dandenong was a huge success. It’s networking events like this, involving local businesses, be they small business or large corporations, that encourage business growth and help to strengthen the community.

Fort Knox Self Storage is a huge believer in supporting local community groups and have partnered with numerous sporting clubs and charities to help them grow. Embracing social responsibility in your local municipal with give your brand merit, add value and instil trust.
Many businesses shy away from community engagement thinking that the only partnership would be through sponsorship and large financial outlay. However, the reality is that there are many ways in which businesses can partner with local community groups. Supporting a group could be through volunteering, sharing knowledge and resources, exchanging services for mutual benefit, mentoring and of course donations or sponsorship to name a few. Encouraging active community organisations to unite fosters an increase in team morale and a healthy society. It is important to choose groups that share the same values as your business and align yourself with mutual respect.
As a family owned and operated business we choose to partner ourselves with community groups that foster the same values that we do. We are really proud of the work we do in our local communities. We have engaged in many children’s sporting groups, local schools, Men’s Sheds, Rotary groups and Melbourne City Mission to name a few.

While you may not associate self-storage with lawn bowls, we have recently aligned ourselves with the local bowls club. The team here at Fort Knox Self Storage would like to acknowledge the Noble Park Bowls Club for joining us at our cocktail party. We were absolutely delighted to meet Club President Marj Gissing and numerous other members of the committee and showcase our new facility. We shared many stories and had a great laugh with these truly lovely people. In fact, we are thrilled to have been invited along to join them in barefoot bowls when the weather is a little brighter. We have made some new friends and have no doubt that the relationship with continue to flourish in time.
